We are seeking a highly skilled Electric Motor Winder for a direct hire opportunity with one of our trusted industrial clients. This is a long-term, career-level position for an experienced professional who takes pride in precision, quality workmanship, and electrical/mechanical expertise.

Pay Range: $63,000 – $73,000 per year DOE
(Higher compensation possible for candidates with strong leadership or management experience in addition to winding expertise.)


What You’ll Do

As an Electric Motor Winder, you will be responsible for the safe inspection, testing, repair, and rewinding of a wide range of electrical equipment including AC/DC motors, generators, armatures, rotors, transformers, magnet and brake coils, and related components.

Your work ensures equipment is restored to optimal performance through precise diagnostics, rewinding, and final testing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate equipment needing repair (AC/DC motors, generators, transformers, coils, etc.)
  • Document external and internal equipment data for repair tracking
  • Diagnose failures using tools such as megger, hi-pot, and AC/DC test panels
  • Dismantle equipment and collect winding and core data
  • Convert winding data in alignment with EASA guidelines
  • Remove, rewind, and replace coils and wire systems
  • Perform core testing, repair, and re-stacking as needed
  • Apply proper insulation classifications and materials
  • Execute coil winding, insertion, wedging, tying, and connections
  • Perform soldering, brazing, and welding of internal and external leads
  • Complete dip, bake, cleaning, and finishing processes
  • Conduct final electrical and mechanical testing
  • Accurately document all pre- and post-repair testing results

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of winding experience (Required)
  • 6+ years of mechanical experience (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience working with industrial motor repair and rewinding processes
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical winding data
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Leadership or management experience is a plus (higher pay consideration)
