Material Handler

Located in Daytona Beach, FL

Salary: $17-$18/hr

***MUST BE FORKLIFT CERTIFIED & BE ABLE TO LIFT UP TO 70 LBS***

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Material Movement: Safely transport raw materials to production lines and move finished goods to storage or shipping areas.
• Inventory Control: Scan, tag, and record inventory locations to maintain accurate stock records, often using RFID or barcode scanners.
• Shipping & Receiving: Load and unload trucks, verify shipping documents, and inspect incoming items for damages or discrepancies.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes, following safety protocols.
• Safety & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and keep the work area clean, orderly, and compliant with safety regulations (OSHA). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

 

Job Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Previous experience in warehousing, logistics, or operating forklifts is commonly required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varied temperatures.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Key Attributes: Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Education: High school diploma or GED is often preferred but not always
