Low Voltage Cable Technician

Pay: $20–$40 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Low Voltage Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling systems, including Cat6 structured wiring for residential and commercial projects. This position requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and secure Cat5e/Cat6 low voltage cabling
• Perform structured cabling installations in residential and commercial environments
• Terminate and test Ethernet/network cabling
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
• Install wall plates, patch panels, racks, and cable management systems
• Label and document cable runs accurately
• Troubleshoot and repair low voltage/network cabling issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Follow company safety standards and job site requirements
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members

Qualifications

• Experience with low voltage structured cabling preferred
• Knowledge of Cat5e, Cat6, and network cabling standards
• Ability to use cable testing and termination tools
• Experience fishing walls and running cable through attics/crawl spaces
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
• Strong work ethic and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently

Preferred Experience

• Network rack and patch panel installation
• Camera/security system wiring
• Access control or audio/video installation experience
• Fiber optic experience (a plus)
• OSHA certification (a plus)

Schedule

• Monday–Friday 8AM-8PM
• Occasional overtime/weekend work as needed
