We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Rigger to support the safe lifting, moving, positioning, and installation of large, heavy, and specialized equipment and machinery.

The Rigger is responsible for assessing loads, developing safe lifting and moving strategies, selecting and inspecting appropriate rigging equipment, and safely attaching, moving, and setting loads. This is a hands-on field position that may involve working around machinery, construction sites, confined spaces, elevated areas, and industrial environments.

Candidates with experience in rigging, machinery moving, construction, welding, carpentry, or electrical work are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all loads and equipment are lifted and set properly while demonstrating a consistent commitment to safety.
  • Assess items and loads to develop an appropriate lifting and moving strategy.
  • Properly select rigging gear, tools, and equipment for each job to prevent injury to yourself and others and avoid damage to freight, machinery, and equipment.
  • Inspect rigging equipment before use to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Safely attach and detach loads while following all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Safely maneuver loads through difficult, restricted, and confined spaces.
  • Examine tools and equipment needed for each job on a daily or as-needed basis.
  • Monitor the condition of tools and equipment and repair or replace them as needed.
  • Assist with machinery moving, equipment installation, positioning, and related field work.
  • Work safely around cranes, forklifts, machinery, construction equipment, and other industrial equipment.
  • Report and immediately escalate safety concerns, equipment issues, damaged materials, or other situations to management.
  • Attend required meetings, safety meetings, and training sessions.
  • Prepare and communicate reports as needed.
  • Follow company procedures and established safety practices at all times.
  • Perform other duties related to rigging, machinery moving, and field operations as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the following fields:
    • Rigging
    • Construction
    • Welding
    • Carpentry
    • Electrical
  • Experience with crane assembly and disassembly.
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging practices.
  • Good math skills for calculating load requirements and determining appropriate lifting methods.
  • Ability to assess loads and determine the appropriate equipment and rigging methods.
  • Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and walking across scaffolding.
  • Ability to work safely in confined and difficult-to-access spaces.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and instructions.
  • Strong awareness of surroundings and potential hazards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a field team.

  • Other machinery and equipment used for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy loads.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and move extremely large or heavy objects on a regular basis, with a minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
  • Must be comfortable walking and working on scaffolding.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be physically capable of working in demanding field and industrial environments.
  • Must be able to safely handle rigging equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Must be comfortable working in confined and difficult spaces.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
