The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee daily operations, and serve as a key ambassador for the organization, working closely with staff, the Board of Directors, artists, educators, volunteers, and community partners to advance non-profit’s mission and impact.
Full time, $75,000-$90,000
Monday -Friday occasional evenings and weekends required for events and programming
3 weeks of paid time off
Monthly healthcare stipend provided after 90 days
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and sustainability the non-profit. This includes guiding strategic direction, overseeing programming and operations, leading fundraising efforts, and strengthening community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide vision and strategic direction in partnership with the Board of Directors
- Ensure alignment of programs and operations with company’s mission and long-term goals
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture
Fundraising & Development
- Lead and implement fundraising strategies, including grants, sponsorships, and donor engagement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, members, donors, and community partners
- Oversee revenue-generating activities, including programs and events
Operations & Financial Management
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting to ensure organizational sustainability
- Manage day-to-day operations, including administrative systems and organizational processes
- Ensure effective use of resources across all departments
Program Oversight
- Provide oversight and support for company’s core program areas:
- Education: Youth and adult classes, workshops, school partnerships, camps, and community programs
- Exhibitions: Rotating gallery exhibitions and community-based installations
- Events & Facilities: Rentals, special events, and facility operations
- Membership and Volunteers: Recruit and maintain strong relationships with company members and volunteers
- Support staff leadership and development across departments
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Serve as a visible and active presence in the Roseburg and Douglas County community
- Build partnerships with schools, arts organizations, businesses, and government agencies
- Advocate for the value of arts and culture at the local and regional level
Signature Event Leadership
- Oversee and grow the annual Summer Arts Festival, a three-day event attracting over 10,000 attendees
- Secure sponsorships and partnerships to support the festival’s financial success
- Ensure continued excellence and community relevance of the event
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, arts education, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of experience leading teams and managing programs in a nonprofit, arts, or community-based setting
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, including grant writing, donor development, and revenue strategy
- Experience managing budgets and ensuring financial accountability
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with boards, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, business, or a related field
- Experience in arts management or cultural programming
Additional Qualifications & Skills
- Understanding of nonprofit governance and board relations
- Ability to lead diverse stakeholders around shared goals
- Strong project management skills from concept through implementation
- Experience working with government agencies and community partners
- Proficiency with systems related to finance, donor management, marketing, and communications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences
