Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for a Medical Assistant to support physicians, physician assistants, and nursing staff in providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology care. Responsibilities include patient intake, assisting with procedures, preparing treatment rooms, documenting medical information, and supporting cosmetic treatments and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients
• Obtain and document medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints
• Take vital signs and clinical photographs
• Prepare exam and procedure rooms
• Assist providers during dermatologic and cosmetic surgical procedures
• Set up sterile instruments and maintain infection-control standards
• Assist with biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, laser treatments, injectables, and cosmetic procedures
• Provide patient education regarding medications, wound care, and post-treatment instructions
• Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals or follow-up care
• Perform electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Handle prescription refills and prior authorizations as directed
• Maintain inventory of medical and cosmetic supplies
• Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of Medical Assistant training program preferred
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or cosmetic medicine preferred
• Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical assisting
• Familiarity with EMR systems
