About the Company
Growing plastics blow molding manufacturer seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain all aspects of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This role is critical to ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction, ISO compliance, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on manufacturing quality experience, and a solid background in ISO 9001 within a plastics manufacturing environment.
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). This individual will lead quality assurance and quality control initiatives, manage internal auditing and corrective actions, oversee customer and supplier quality issues, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and customer requirements.
This position works closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams to drive operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of product quality and process consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Lead and maintain the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards
- Manage internal and external quality audits, including corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Conduct management review meetings and provide reporting on QMS performance metrics
- Develop, implement, and improve quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection processes
- Maintain calibration systems and ensure inspection/measuring equipment accuracy
Manufacturing Quality Leadership
- Lead quality initiatives within a plastics blow molding manufacturing environment
- Monitor manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and defect reduction
- Oversee incoming material inspections, in-process inspections, and final product verification
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality issues, customer complaints, RMAs, and product recalls
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve product consistency and manufacturing performance
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, mentor, and develop quality auditors and quality personnel
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Support cross-functional teams with problem-solving and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in safety meetings and support company safety objectives
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
- Generate quality reports and KPI tracking through IQMS or similar ERP/QMS systems
- Analyze data and trends to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicate quality performance and recommendations to executive leadership
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Quality Management, Quality Assurance, or Quality Control experience in manufacturing
- Prior experience with ISO 9001 systems and audits required
- Experience in plastics manufacturing strongly preferred; blow molding experience highly preferred
- Proven leadership experience managing quality teams in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of quality systems, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with precision measuring tools, calibration systems, and print reading
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with ERP/QMS systems such as IQMS preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, machinery, and moving mechanical parts
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- PPE required in production areas, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection
