Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate saw machines (band saws, circular saws, or automated saw equipment) to cut steel materials
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cutting specifications
• Measure and mark materials to ensure accurate cuts and minimal waste
• Load and position steel materials using appropriate tools or equipment
• Monitor machine operation and adjust settings as needed for quality and efficiency
• Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
• Perform basic maintenance, including blade changes and machine cleaning
• Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout practices
• Keep work area clean and organized
