Quality Manager

Fergus, ON (primary) with regular travel to Guelph, ON
$38.50-45.00 an hour (based on experience)
Full-time | Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, flexibility required)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and self-directed Quality Manager to lead and oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) across two manufacturing facilities in Fergus and Guelph.

This is a key leadership role suited for someone who thrives in an independent environment. With no current incumbent, the successful candidate will take ownership of quality systems, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and play a critical role in supporting company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage quality inspectors across both facilities
  • Maintain and enhance the company’s Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead implementation and ongoing compliance of certifications, including:
  • ISO 9001
  • CSA N299
  • CSA W59 (less emphasis on AS9100)
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support daily inspection activities and provide technical guidance
  • Report on quality performance, initiatives, and progress to senior leadership
  • Support certification goals, including:
  • Expanding ISO 9001 certification to the fabrication facility
  • Advancing toward N299.3 compliance and certification

Current Environment

  • ISO 9001 certification is in place (excluding fabrication facility)
  • Fabrication operations hold CSA W47.1 and W47.2 certifications
  • CNC machining operations align with select AS9100 requirements based on customer needs
  • A structured QMS exists and requires further development and alignment

Support Structure

  • Welding Supervisor supports all welding-related certifications
  • Experienced quality inspectors assist with day-to-day operations
  • Senior leadership provides direction, guidance, and approvals

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience managing or supporting a QMS
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, CSA N299, and CSA W59
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proven experience implementing and improving quality systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Benefits available after 6 months
  • 2 weeks vacation
  • Travel between sites is required (costs included in compensation)

Work Environment

This role requires a proactive and self-sufficient professional who is comfortable building structure, driving improvements, and leading quality initiatives without formal onboarding into the position.
