Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Full-Charge Bookkeeper for a full-time opportunity with a growing local firm!

This role is ideal for a self-motivated, responsible accounting professional who enjoys managing multiple priorities and working independently while collaborating with a team. The position supports bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting-related services for a diverse client base and offers long-term stability with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly bookkeeping and account reconciliations for multiple entities
  • Process payroll for multiple clients with varying payroll schedules
  • Prepare and file quarterly payroll tax reports for multiple states
  • Complete year-end bookkeeping closeouts
  • Assist with preparation of tax workpapers for assigned accounts
  • Maintain accuracy, organization, and compliance across all assigned tasks

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits, double-entry accounting, and general bookkeeping processes
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience
  • Accounting degree or certificate preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll laws and willingness to stay current on payroll tax changes
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to problem-solve and work independently
  • Strong time-management skills with ownership over productivity and deadlines
  • High attention to detail, especially with payroll-related work, including use of internal controls when appropriate
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with a team
  • Overtime may be required at times to meet deadlines
