Shipping & Receiving Associate – 1st Shift
Location: Toledo, OH

Pay: $15-$18 Depending On Experience PLUS $250 Bonus every 2 Weeks.

Job Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming materials, tools, and components used in machining and fabrication operations. This role ensures accuracy of shipments, proper handling of raw materials, and timely distribution to appropriate departments while maintaining inventory integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and unload incoming shipments of raw materials, parts, and supplies
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading
• Inspect materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies
• Accurately enter received goods into inventory management or ERP systems
• Label and organize materials for proper storage or routing to production areas
• Coordinate with purchasing & production regarding shortages or incorrect shipments
• Maintain clean and organized receiving and storage areas
• Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
• Ensure proper handling and storage of material, tooling, and sensitive components
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
• Follow all safety procedures and shop protocols

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
• Basic computer skills (data entry, inventory systems)
• Ability to read and understand packing slips, purchase orders, and part numbers
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Experience in a machining or metal fabrication shop
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Forklift certification
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings or material specifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs regularly
• Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods

Work Environment

• Manufacturing facility with exposure to machining and fabrication operations
• Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.
