Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for an MIG Welder / Shop Helper!

 

Position Summary:
A well-established metal fabrication company in Cedar Rapids is seeking a dependable and motivated MIG Welder / Shop Helper. This role involves both welding and general shop work, making it a great opportunity for someone with welding experience or training who’s also willing to jump in wherever needed. You’ll be working on projects such as railings, stairs, and other fabricated metal components in a hands-on shop environment. If you’re reliable, hands-on, and eager to grow your skills—this could be the perfect fit!

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform basic MIG welding on stainless steel components
• Assist with fabrication of railings, stairs, and other custom metal work
• Assist with general shop duties, including machine operation, cleanup, and material handling
• Read and follow blueprints or simple work instructions
• Measure and cut materials to match specifications
• Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
• Take on additional general labor tasks as needed

 

Qualifications:
• MIG welding experience or training
• Willingness to perform general labor and support shop operations
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or with a small team

 

Hours:
• Monday – Friday
• 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Optional Saturdays available based on workload

 

Pay:
• $20–22/hour (based on experience)
