We are seeking a dedicated and professional Licensed Optometrist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, and patient education. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of ophthalmology principles, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and physiological function.
  • Diagnose and manage a variety of eye conditions, including refractive errors, ocular diseases, and pediatric visual issues.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or treatments based on clinical findings, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options to promote informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmology specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and utilize aseptic techniques during examinations to ensure patient safety.
  • Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and coding practices for accurate documentation.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice independently.
  • Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry settings with proficiency in optical experience and patient care.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye; familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
  • Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of medical coding procedures relevant to optometry services.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with sales acumen for product recommendations when appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and compassionately to diverse patient populations.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance during all patient interactions. This role is integral to providing high-quality eye care services while fostering positive patient relationships.
