Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Plant Controller to lead all on-site financial and accounting activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational decision-making through data-driven insights. The position partners closely with plant leadership to enhance performance, improve cost efficiency, and drive sustainable financial outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Planning

  • Oversee month-end close processes, including inventory valuation, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, including standard cost development and variance analysis
  • Build and maintain dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics
  • Provide timely financial insights to support plant leadership and ensure audit readiness

Operational Finance & Transactions

  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions for accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage payroll processing for a small employee population, ensuring compliance and alignment with cost accounting

Business Partnership & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with operations teams to analyze product costing, margins, and manufacturing performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean practices, process mapping, on-site observations)
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting, and workflows through ERP tools

Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain adherence to internal financial policies and control standards
  • Oversee inventory controls, including cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Ensure capital expenditures are properly evaluated and aligned with financial expectations
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to support planning and strategic decisions

What You Bring

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing finance and cost accounting principles
  • Familiarity with internal controls and compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (ERP experience preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or operations finance
  • Demonstrated ability to connect operational metrics with financial performance
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP) is a plus
