General Shipping Associate

Location: Clearwater, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking General Shipping Associate to join our shipping team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, stacking, and loading completed trailers for shipment to distribution centers and dealers. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, mechanical ability, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare trailers for shipment by stacking and securing them properly
Protect trailer components using materials such as dunnage and carpet
Use tools such as nail guns and power tools to assemble and secure materials
Read schedules and locate trailers within the yard
Operate hoist systems to stack trailers safely
Strap and secure trailers onto flatbeds, contract carriers, or straight trucks
Load loose parts and ensure all items are secured for transport
Back flatbed trucks into designated loading areas
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Work overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

Ability to read and understand English
At least 1 year of experience using hand tools
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred:

High school diploma or equivalent
Mechanical experience
Bilingual skills

Physical Demands

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials (up to 50 lbs regularly)

Ability to safely maneuver on and around trailers and flatbed trucks
