Manual Operator - East Baton Rouge Parish

Full Time 

$17/Hr 

Monday – Friday, 6 am- 2:30 pm

 

Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is currently hiring for a Manual Operator for a local company in East Baton Rouge. This is a hands-on, physical position working in a fast-paced warehouse and outdoor production environment. The Manual Operator is responsible for repairing, handling, and cleaning pallets, operating basic tools, and supporting general labor tasks throughout the facility.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Manual Operator:  

  • Handling, reshaping, repairing, painting and washing metal crates.
  • Operate hand tools including Mallets, hooks, Hammers / Sledgehammers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, and Drift Pins. 
  • Inspect pallets for defects and determine necessary repairs.

  • Operate pressure washers to clean pallets, equipment, or work areas

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Follow daily production goals and meet performance expectations

  • Assist with general warehouse and packaging-related duties as required

  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures

  • Painting pallets with a brush or spray. 
  • Scraping any stickers, or tags, greasing locks, spray galvanizing when necessary, inspecting crates for water, or stains, and closing crates once clean and dry. 

Skills and Experience:

  • Must have steel toed boots. 

  • Experience using hand tools or pressure washers is helpful but not required

  • Strong work ethic and reliable attendance

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods

  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn and work as part of a team
