CNC Machinist – Setup & Programming

Pay: Based on Experience
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift

Position Overview

Local manufacturing company is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with setup and programming experience to join their team. This is not an operator-only role — the ideal candidate will have a strong machining background and be comfortable setting up machines, editing programs, troubleshooting issues, and working independently in a precision-focused environment.

The company is willing to further train the right candidate, but a solid foundation in machining is essential.

Responsibilities

Perform CNC machine setups for production runs
Edit and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments when necessary
Maintain clean and organized work area
Work independently while maintaining quality and production standards

Qualifications

Strong CNC machining background required
Setup experience required
Basic programming experience preferred
Experience with Fusion 360 or Mastercam is highly beneficial
Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
Ability to work with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

CNC mills and/or lathes
Program editing and troubleshooting
Precision measurement tools including calipers and micrometers
Prototype or small-run machining experience
