The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of construction trailers and mobile units. This role involves performing a variety of general repair tasks, including flooring installation, patchwork, and light electrical and plumbing work, ensuring all units are safe, functional, and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on construction trailers and mobile units
- Install and repair flooring, including vinyl, laminate, and subfloor patching
- Complete minor drywall repairs, patching, and finishing
- Conduct light electrical work (e.g., replacing fixtures, outlets, and basic wiring)
- Perform light plumbing tasks (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, basic pipe work)
- Inspect trailers to identify maintenance needs and safety issues
- Prepare units for deployment by ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and structural integrity
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Qualifications:
- Experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
- Ability to use common hand and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform manual labour
