 Production Associate 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Associate supports daily manufacturing operations within a galvanizing facility by preparing, handling, and processing steel materials through the hot-dip galvanizing process. This role involves working in a fast-paced, industrial environment while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare steel materials for galvanizing by tying, racking, and securing items using wire, chains, or rigging equipment
• Assist with loading and unloading materials onto racks for processing through cleaning and galvanizing tanks
• Operate and inspect equipment such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, and tooling prior to use
• Clean, grind, or finish materials to meet specifications
• Inspect finished products for quality issues such as drips, bare spots, or coating defects
• Remove wires, chains, and excess materials after processing
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Communicate production or quality issues to supervisors
• Assist with training new employees as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
• Experience using hand tools, grinders, or basic equipment preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts or overhead cranes (or willingness to learn)
• Valid driver’s license preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use tools safely
• Strong attention to detail for quality control
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
• Good communication skills

WORKING CONDITIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Work in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment (heat, cold, humidity)
• Exposure to hot materials, chemicals, dust, and industrial equipment
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding work
• Willingness to work overtime, extended shifts, and weekends as needed
