Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Contract Accountant to support the daily accounting operations of a busy HVAC company. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting experience, excellent Excel skills, and hands-on experience using JobBoss software. The ideal candidate will be organized, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

• Prepare invoices, billing statements, and customer account updates

• Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger entries

• Enter and maintain accurate financial data in JobBoss software

• Create reports, spreadsheets, and tracking logs using Microsoft Excel

• Assist with payroll support and timecard verification as needed

• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on collections

• Maintain organized accounting records and filing systems

• Support month-end close and reporting processes

• Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal staff

Qualifications

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required

• Experience with JobBoss software required or strongly preferred

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, spreadsheets, reporting)

• Knowledge of accounts payable, receivable, and reconciliations

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• HVAC, construction, or service industry experience is a plus
