Job Title: Warehouse Associate/Wire Cutter

 

Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals of Denton County are looking for a Warehouse Associate/Wire Cutter that is responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, assembling, packing, and shipping wire and electrical products. This role requires prior wire cutter experience, knowledge of wire types, and the ability to operate powered industrial equipment. Accuracy, reliability, and consistent attendance are critical for success in this position. 

Pay Rate: Up to $24/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Wire Cutting & Order Fulfillment

• Measure, cut, and spool wire materials according to customer and internal order specifications.
• Assemble and fill wire cut orders for shipment to customers or other company divisions.
• Identify and differentiate between various types of wire.
• Gather completed wire cuts and verify quantities and product descriptions.
• Pack and tag each wire cut appropriately and stage orders by truck route.

Shipping & Receiving

• Assemble customer orders for shipment via UPS and LTL carriers.
• Load and unload common carriers and company vehicles (non-driving role).
• Verify quantities and items being shipped against invoices and shipping documentation.
• Process shipping paperwork, including:
• Bills of Lading (BOL)
• Applying correct shipping labels and postage tape
• Following customer-specific shipping instructions
• Insuring shipments when required
• Count merchandise and document total quantities on invoices.
• Place packed orders onto shelves or staging lanes according to truck routes.

Warehouse Operations

• Use RF scanners and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for:
• Picking orders
• General put-away of materials after receipt
• Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) safely and efficiently.
• Substitute for other warehouse personnel when needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Equipment & Tools

• RF Scanner / Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Wire cutting and measuring tools
• Stand-up forklifts
• Sit-down forklift 

 

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant warehouse experience 
• Proven wire cutter experience.
• Knowledge of different types of electrical wire.
• Experience using RF scanners and WMS systems.
• Forklift experience (stand-up and sit-down).
• General knowledge of electrical products.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
• Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
• Excellent attendance record required.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.

 

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Steel-toed work boots required.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
• Capability to lift, move, and handle materials as required by the role.
• Adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
