An Edmonton client is seeking a Scale House Operator to join their team.
Scale House Operator Highlights:
- Operate a truck scale to weigh materials brought in
- Direct customers and drivers to appropriate locations for loading and unloading
- Prepare accurate loading documents for outbound trailer loads
- Coordinate with yard inspectors and operators to minimize congestion and maintain smooth traffic flow
- Use handheld mobile radios to communicate between the yard and scale efficiently
- Maintain an organized scale house and ensure all paperwork is accurate and properly filed
- Answer phone calls, provide pricing information, and direct inquiries to the appropriate contacts
- Open and sort mail
- Maintain office records, filing systems, and tracking spreadsheets
- Ensure office equipment is maintained and supplies are stocked
- Arrange couriers and trucks for pickups and deliveries
- Process supplier payments and prepare cheques
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an administrative, logistics, or scale house role preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with basic computer systems and record-keeping
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
Hours & Wage:
- $23/hour
- Hours to be determined
