Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager will lead all maintenance operations at a high-volume manufacturing facility in Brampton. Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Engineering Team. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on proactive maintenance—not reactive firefighting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team (3-4 ppl), including scheduling and performance management (3 shift, 24/7 operation)
- Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Develop and execute maintenance strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and internal policies
- Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and spare parts procurement
- Partner with production teams to minimize downtime and support operational targets
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including TPM and lean maintenance practices
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers as required
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and reporting metrics
Qualifications
- Min of 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience and 5+ years in maintenance work in a manufacturing environment, strong preference for foam manufacturing (pour line) or foam fabrication experience
- Trade certification (Millwright or Electrician) with an Engineering background is preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with industrial equipment (including heavy CNC machines) and automated systems
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production setting
- Solid understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
- Experience with Computer Integrated Manufacturing system (CIM).
- Experience working with PLC and VFD Programming and troubleshooting
- Experience using CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of Ontario health & safety regulations
- Flexible to do overtime, weekend and different shifts as required
