Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Mechanic III – Assembly for a dynamic, physically demanding role centered on mechanical assembly and material handling, grounded in rigorous standards and safety. Schedule: 1st shift 6am-2:30 pm $17/h. (Weekends worked as needed. Mandatory overtime.)
Full-time, typically part of 1st shift operations
Integral member of the assembly team, responsible for assembling mechanical units following standardized work procedures
Roles may flex across departments or workstations as needed by production demands.
Assemble mechanical support units safely and precisely, meeting daily production goals
Operate material-handling equipment—JIB cranes, pallet jacks, forklifts—to lift, move, and position components
Fabricate units following blueprints and shop drawings
Assist with replenishment and organization of the work area; maintain 5S standards
Complete in-process inspections and necessary paperwork
Adhere strictly to safety protocols for tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Actively learn and develop technical/mechanical skills; flex across tasks as needed
Proficiency in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals
Experience using handheld measuring tools: tape measures, micrometers, protractors
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and reference drawings
Competency in operating small power tools: drills, nail guns, impact wrenches
Certification to operate JIB cranes; experience with forklifts and pallet jacks
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
Thorough understanding of safety guidelines and machinery handling
Standing and walking up to 80% of the shift; bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching frequently.
Frequent lifting of up to ~50 pounds
Exposure to manufacturing noise, fluctuating indoor/outdoor temperatures, and yard/dock operations.
Typical schedule: 40 hours/week, occasionally including weekends and scheduled overtime.
