Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Location: Sarasota, FL
Pay: $22–$25/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (occasional OT)
Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to take ownership of a critical function within a growing precision manufacturing environment. This role goes beyond basic shipping and receiving—it requires strong organization, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all shipping and receiving activities, including packing, labeling, and processing shipments (UPS/FedEx)
  • Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy, and distribute to appropriate departments
  • Prepare and track purchase orders for outside vendors (heat treating, plating, etc.)
  • Monitor vendor orders, follow up on timelines, and ensure timely returns
  • Count and verify parts from production and coordinate with Quality Control
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using internal systems and Microsoft Office
  • Respond to internal and customer inquiries regarding order status
  • Assist with organization and workflow across departments as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in shipping & receiving or a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy (this role requires a high level of precision)
  • Comfortable working independently and managing priorities without constant direction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook required)
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar systems preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work with numbers, data, and inventory counts accurately
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
