Hydromat Set-Up Operator – 1st Shift

Location: Carpentersville, IL

A Carpentersville-area manufacturer is seeking a Hydromat Set-Up Operator to join their machining team. This position focuses on setting up and operating multi-spindle bar stock equipment while producing quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay: $18.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience)

Hydromat Set-Up Operator Duties

• Set up multiple-spindle bar stock / Hydromat equipment involved in machining standard parts with a limited range of materials
• Set and adjust tools and tool holders, set stops, change collets and ejectors, and adjust oil levels
• Use a pre-setter to change drills, cutters, and tool holders
• Determine machining operation sequences and modify or adapt tooling for special parts
• Work from drawings, shop orders, sketches, and manufacturer manuals to maintain close tolerances and finish requirements
• Perform daily preventive maintenance procedures on department equipment

Hydromat Set-Up Operator Qualifications

• Hydromat set-up experience preferred (not required)
• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift and maneuver 25–50 lbs
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours per shift
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Looking for long-term employment in manufacturing
