Job Description: Ambulatory Surgery RN

Location: Lihue, Kauai, HI

Length: 7 Weeks (6/01/2020-8/30/2026)

 Shift: Rotating

Schedule: 8‑hour shifts: 40 hours guaranteed

Additional Requirements: On-call and weekend shifts required

Position Overview

The ideal RN brings strong clinical judgment, excellent patient‑care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced ambulatory surgical environment. This role supports pre‑op, intra‑op, and post‑anesthesia care as needed.

Compensation

• Estimated Weekly Gross: $3601
• Taxed Hourly Rate: $16/hr
• Hourly Stipend: $84.03
• Overall Hourly rate: $100.03
• Stipend: $3025 (based on 36 hrs/week)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high‑quality nursing care to patients undergoing ambulatory surgical procedures
• Perform pre‑operative assessments, patient education, and preparation
• Assist with intra‑operative care in collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia providers
• Deliver post‑anesthesia recovery care, including monitoring, pain management, and discharge readiness
• Respond to emergent situations using advanced clinical skills
• Participate in on‑call rotation and weekend coverage as assigned
• Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly in accordance with facility standards

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 3 years of recent Ambulatory Surgery or PACU RN experience
• Active Hawaii RN License (must be in hand prior to start)
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS
• Current Two-Step TB/Chest X-Ray
• N95 Fit Test
• Proof of vaccinations: MMR, TDAP, Varicella, COVID and Flu
