Our client in Willoughby, OH is seeking a Process Quality Engineer. #2931PR

This candidate plays a key role in supporting manufacturing excellence through strong technical expertise, design knowledge, and clear cross-functional communication. This position ensures manufacturing processes comply with the established Quality Management System (QMS) and that all products meet applicable quality and compliance standards prior to customer delivery.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, coordination, and implementation of process improvement projects
  • Monitor the full production cycle to identify malfunctions, bottlenecks, and productivity issues
  • Read, interpret, and modify engineering drawings and schematics
  • Develop and optimize strategies to improve efficiency, reduce cycle time, and increase product quality
  • Implement process control measures to reduce variation and ensure consistent quality
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet established standards
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement
  • Drive KPI improvements focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines while prioritizing workload effectively
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to verify compliance and promote a quality-first mindset
  • Use manufacturing data to implement process changes and drive improvements
  • Analyze cost impacts of process challenges and support root cause and corrective action development
  • Evaluate scrap and rework trends and implement corrective actions
  • Improve manufacturing methods to enhance labor efficiency, reduce scrap, and minimize work-in-process

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience as a Process Engineer, Quality Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tooling design
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Proficiency with relevant software (CAD, MS Office, and manufacturing systems)
  • Strong commercial awareness, leadership ability, and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, written, and verbal communication abilities
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to assess and implement solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience building effective working relationships across all levels
  • Flexibility to occasionally work late shifts as required
  • Experience leading or supporting audits to ISO 9001, AS9100, or ISO 13485 standards preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent industry experience
