Customer Service, paying $20/hr.
Job Summary: Responsible for ordering merchandise for the inside warehouse through the branch buyer (can be one and the same in smaller branches) oversees customer order being entered into the computer accurately and that order clears credit check and is pulled and packaged for delivery. Ensure that trucks are available for loading and that merchandise is ready for delivery.Job Responsibilities/Duties:•Performs counter sales, returns and credits for customers, including walk in customers. Prepares the cash sales tickets. Responsible for routing the daily local delivery trucks based upon customer orders received and optimum routing based upon promise delivery times to customer.•Receives telephone orders from customers, sales representatives, electronically entered salesman orders (checked in system each morning) and walk in orders on a daily basis. Prepares and oversees ALL the preparation for order processing.•Ensures that all orders received are correctly and timely inputted into the computer. Verifies that the documentation exists for supporting the order entry. Verifies that the credit department have received the order for customer credit verification and authorization to ship. Generate delivery manifests from orders entered.•Maintains inside warehouse inventory sheets and ensures inside branch purchasing is made aware of requirement for reordering.•Coordinates with purchasing department to ensure order is placed on vendor with a legitimate order number and that this information is added to the system and a copy of the order placed in the inside warehouse product slot prior to receiving it, so those pulling merchandise are aware of the status of delivery.•Checks and verifies orders ready to be pulled, boxed and packaged by order fillers for delivery.•Maintains route delivery sheets for daily truck routes.•Checks trouble queue daily•Checks back order queue daily•Supports salesreps and assists achieving daily order cut off by 10:00 AM•ensures COD tickets are transferred to credit prior to going to the warehouse in order the customer can be called and payment is verified by manager.•Ensures all credit queue orders are released only to credit department and not to warehouse, unless they have cleared credit queue and called by relevant credit manager.•Interacts effectively with other departments to resolve problems, schedule activities, gather information.•Communicate with customers and when applicable vendors in a courteous and respectful and cooperative manner.•Work schedules and hours and overtime if requested to do so as authorized by management to ensure maximum customer service at all times. Perform similar or other job duties as assigned by management.Job QualificationsMinimum of one year alterations and dry cleaning industry experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of five (5) years experience in inside sales, customer service, order entry, order filling, and inventory control.Proficient computer skillsEffective written and oral skills in EnglishThe ability to work under time constraintsA willingness to work overtime when requested to do so
