Job Summary

A-1 Block is seeking an experienced Concrete Mixer Driver to safely operate a heavy-duty ready-mix concrete truck and deliver concrete to residential and commercial job sites. This role is responsible for loading, transporting, and accurately pouring concrete while maintaining the truck, following safety procedures, and providing professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy-duty concrete mixer truck on public roads, construction sites, and uneven terrain.
• Load concrete at the batch plant and verify delivery tickets and mix information.
• Transport ready-mix concrete to residential and commercial job sites.
• Position the truck properly at job sites for safe and accurate concrete placement.
• Attach, remove, lift, and carry extension chutes weighing approximately 30–50 lbs.
• Control the discharge of concrete according to customer and job site needs.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking fluids, lights, tires, and overall truck condition.
• Wash and clean the drum, chutes, and rear of the truck after each load to prevent concrete buildup.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, plant staff, and job site personnel.
• Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and job site procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional truck and work area.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• 1–2 years of previous concrete mixer truck experience required.
• Must be able to safely operate a mixer truck in tight spaces and on active construction sites.
• Ability to climb in and out of the truck cab frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to climb ladders and work around the mixer drum and truck body.
• Ability to lift, carry, attach, and remove heavy chutes weighing approximately 30–50 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and customer service.

Schedule

Schedule varies based on daily business needs. Drivers will typically be informed of their start time the day before. Start times are usually between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

Driving Record Requirements

Candidates must meet company MVR standards, including:

• No DUIs.
• No accidents within the last 3 years.
