Monday to Thursday | 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Express Employment Professionals Guelph is hiring on behalf of a great company in Stratford, ON for a Brake Press Operator. This company fabricates and assembles components for heavy trucks, defense, and off-road equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up tooling using the appropriate gauge of metal required for the job and form products according to specifications.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the fabrication sequence and all steps required to complete the process.
  • Communicate any ideas, improvements, or feedback regarding process enhancements to the Lead Hand.
  • Promote and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure employee safety and product efficiency.
  • Meet all production timelines for fabricated products.
  • Set up, prepare, and program computerized machinery from scratch for “first articles.”
  • Follow all Occupational Health & Safety regulations and company policies; make equipment adjustments as required.
  • Ensure all parts comply with blueprint specifications and quality standards.
  • Segregate non-conforming or damaged parts and notify Quality Assurance.
  • Select the correct program corresponding to the part number.
  • Select specified dies as listed on the traveller.
  • Ensure WIP tags and updated travellers move to the next operation according to product control procedures.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Communicate and assist co-workers, operators, supervisors, and Lead Hands as required.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain the work area.
  • Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Follow all lockout procedures when performing repairs and adjustments.
  • Complete ITP paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent; combinations of education, experience, and certifications will be considered.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic to intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of industry-related hand tools.
  • Experience working safely with lifting devices (crane, lift truck, magnets, and other lifting equipment).
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 30 lbs on a repetitive basis.
  • Reliable transportation.
