Marine Mechanic

Located in Grove, OK

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair inboard, outboard, and stern‑drive marine engines
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tune‑ups, and inspections
• Install, repair, and troubleshoot marine electrical systems
• Inspect propulsion systems, steering, fuel systems, and cooling systems
• Prepare boats for seasonal launch and winterization
• Test vessels and systems to ensure proper operation
• Maintain accurate service records and work orders
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturer specifications
• Communicate findings and repair needs clearly with customers or management

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or similar mechanical role
• Strong understanding of marine engines and systems
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and hand/power tools
• Knowledge of electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Marine mechanic certification (ABYC, manufacturer‑specific training, etc.)
• Experience with major brands (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, etc.)
• Welding or fiberglass repair experience
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Work Environment

• Marina, service shop, or outdoor waterfront setting
• Exposure to weather, fuel, grease, and mechanical equipment
• Physical work including standing, bending, lifting, and kneeling
