Role Overview

Plumbers are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. This includes water supply lines, drainage systems, gas lines, and related fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, and water heaters.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Repair: Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures, pipes, valves, and fittings; handle domestic, commercial, and industrial systems.
• Inspection & Diagnostics: Inspect plumbing systems to identify leaks, clogs, and other issues; troubleshoot and resolve problems efficiently 
• Compliance: Follow local and national building codes, safety standards, and regulations in all work
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints and building plans to plan installations and repairs
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and testing of plumbing systems to ensure efficiency and safety 
• Client Coordination: Provide cost estimates, discuss client needs, and deliver high-quality service 
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency plumbing calls 
• Teamwork: Collaborate with contractors, electricians, and other trades on construction or repair projects 

 

• Skills & Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; plumbing apprenticeship or vocational training preferred 
• Licensing: Valid plumbing license or certification required; additional certifications may be needed depending on location and work type 
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pipefitting, and plumbing codes; proficiency with hand and power tools 
• Soft Skills: Problem-solving, attention to detail, physical stamina, and customer service orientation
