DIRECT HIRE CNC OPERATOR POSITION!
The Customized Solutions CNC Operator plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of being our customers' competitive advantage by operating the Steinhauer machine and promoting Safety, Quality, and Production in daily operations. The CNC Operator will provide daily operations as well as partner with our Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to effectively plan and organize production builds that meet targets for cost, quality, schedule, and customer satisfaction. A successful Customized Solutions CNC Operator Specialist is a self-starter, works autonomously, and has strong communication skills. This individual will coach, mentor, and promote our culture through the 5Ps.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

- Reads production schedule and work orders to determine items to be machined.
- Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
- Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products via manually or forklift onto or from pallets or skids to machine.
- Cleans, deburrs, grinds and machine parts as needed.
- Verifies dimensions of stock cut and accuracy of cuts.
- Installs tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads, and automatic-tool-change magazine.
- Observes numerical displays on control PC and compares with data on drawings to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
- Inspects first-run piece and spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometers and other measuring devices.
- Studies job packet and organizes materials for next run to shorten changeover time.
- Run test samples and check with measuring devices, monitor equipment operation and make operating adjustments as required.
- Work with engineering personnel and operators to coordinate machining of work pieces.
- Transports raw materials and semi-finished products or supplies between departments.
- Maintains and requests materials, tools, or other stock items for machines.
- Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines using brushes, vacuum, and rags; also cleans screens and filters.
- Sweeps and cleans floors, using vacuum and cleans around work areas in shop.
- Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data of part to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and flow rates.
- Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.

- Compute angular and linear dimensions, radii, and curvatures, and outlines sequence of operations required to machine part.
- Prepare geometric layout using computer-assisted drafting software to show location of reference points and direction of cutting paths.
- For new geometry not used before, observe operation of machine on trial run to prove machine operation.
- Observe operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.
- Interface with sales team and customers upon discovery of errors in enclosure design.

Job Requirements/Specifications:
- Two-year technical education degree (AutoCAD).
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Minimum of 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures, etc.
- Computer literate with the ability to learn and work statistical and manufacturing software applications. Duties require verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires a broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC operational procedures
- Ability to use other hand tools (both manual and pneumatic) correctly and safely
- Ability to apply CNC machine mathematics to solve problems
- Ability to plan work and have correct sub-assembly parts scheduled at the line
- Electrical product knowledge is a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a consistent basis; lift up to 70 lbs occasionally
- Ability to operate forklift
- Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
- Ability to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as needed
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Assess part quality issues when necessary.
- Communicates effectively with sales team on issues related to production and quality.
- Subject matter expert with Eclipse.
