Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance / Custodian I is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of the facility. This role involves performing routine custodial duties, assisting with minor maintenance tasks, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and tenants.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.

• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report shortages to supervisor.

• Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, and basic repairs.

• Report facility maintenance issues, safety hazards, or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.

• Set up and break down furniture or equipment for events or meetings as needed.

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and basic hand tools.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs.

• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Working Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed indoors, with occasional outdoor duties.

• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.

• May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and potentially hazardous materials.
