Blast Machine Operator

Located in Jonesboro , AR

Job Duties: 

• Operate blast machines, such as sandblasting or abrasive blasting equipment, to clean, smooth, or prepare metal parts 
• Load and unload steel or fabricated components into blasting equipment 
• Control machine settings such as pressure, blast time, and media flow depending on the part specifications
• Use forklifts and overhead cranes 
• keep work area clean and organized 
• Assist other production departments when needed to meet output goals 
• Remove rust, scale, paint, and other surface contaminants from metal parts
• Ensure parts are properly prepared for painting, coating, and further machinery 
• Inspect blasted surfaces to confirm they meet quality and finish standards
• Follow OSHA and plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout when required 
• Visually inspect part for missed spots, damage, or improper finish 
• Follow work instructions, blueprints, or job travelers for specifications 
• Report defects or inconsistencies to supervisors or quality control staff 
• Perform routing cleaning and basic maintenance on blasting equipment 
• Replace or refill blasting media (sand, steel, grit, etc.) as needed 

Requirements: 

• Must have previous and relevant experience with industrial sandblast operation or equivalent 
• Able to follow OSHA and plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout
• Experience with forklift and over cranes and able to be certified 
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to lift, stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, reach 

Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm Monday - Friday w/ OT as needed
