Yard Switcher

Responsible for safely and efficiently moving trucks within Cardell’s facility yard to support loading, unloading, and dispatch operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move trucks to and from loading docks
  • Position equipment for loading/unloading
  • Perform routine inspections of the trucks and equipment
  • Communicate with dispatch, warehouse staff, and drivers
  • Keep yard organized and ensure proper truck placement
  • Follow safety procedures and site protocols

Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to operate garbage truck and rear end loaders
  • Basic knowledge of hookups (fifth wheel, air lines, etc.)
  • Strong spatial awareness and backing skills
  • Attention to safety and detail
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
