Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of human resources operations for a dynamic and highly regulated airport environment. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR initiatives that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader with strong knowledge of labor laws, workforce planning, and employee relations, preferably within a public-sector, transportation, or similarly complex operational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and employee relations matters
  • Oversee all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits, performance management, and training
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Lead labor relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and conflict resolution
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
  • Manage performance evaluation processes and support leadership development initiatives
  • Oversee HR records, HRIS systems, and reporting
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused workplace culture aligned with airport operations
  • Supervise HR staff and manage departmental budget as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (required)
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or management responsibilities
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Experience in aviation, transportation, government, or unionized environments
  • Experience with safety-sensitive or 24/7 operations
