Position Overview

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Full-Cycle Accountant to manage all aspects of accounting operations for a growing business. This role is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll support, tax preparation support, compliance, and overall financial accuracy.

The ideal candidate is analytical, trustworthy, and capable of managing accounting responsibilities from basic entries to advanced financial and tax-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
• Record and review bookkeeping entries to ensure accuracy and proper coding
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, vendor statements, payroll records, and balance sheet accounts
• Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and internal reports)
• Monitor company expenses, budgets, and cash flow
• Assist with payroll processing, reporting, and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Assist with tax preparation, planning, and filings (sales tax, payroll tax, franchise tax, income tax support, 1099s, etc.)
• Collaborate with external CPAs, auditors, and tax professionals
• Evaluate and improve accounting processes and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information
• Provide financial insights and reporting to leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
• Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax-related functions
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and reconciliations
• Experience with QuickBooks, accounting software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to prepare and organize tax-related documentation
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity and discretion

Preferred Experience

• Full-cycle accounting experience in a small to mid-sized business
• Experience preparing 1099s, payroll tax reports, sales tax filings, and year-end financials
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus (not required)
• Experience in oil & gas, land services, professional services, or contractor-based businesses is a plus
