Position Summary

The Straightening Operator is responsible for inspecting parts and chassis for straightness, flatness, and twist according to customer blueprints. This role uses hand tools to straighten components that are out of specification while ensuring quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform straightening and flattening operations using hand tools, surface plates, and ovens
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Inspect finished parts for quality and document any non-conformances
• Maintain production and inspection records
• Perform basic maintenance and inspections of equipment
• Support continuous improvement efforts using Lean principles
• Ensure work is completed correctly to meet customer expectations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical aptitude with basic machining or manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs periodically and stand/walk up to 8 hours per day

Compensation

• Full-time position
• Pay range: $17.00 – $22.00 per hour
