Location: Salem, OR
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may require occasional evenings or weekends)
Pay: $20.00–$24.00/hr

 

 

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to support a busy healthcare organization in Salem. This role focuses on delivering high-quality service to members by assisting with coverage, claims, and benefit-related questions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle a high volume of inbound calls with professionalism and efficiency
  • Assist members and providers with questions related to coverage, claims, and benefits
  • Clearly explain policy provisions and healthcare benefits
  • Research and resolve customer concerns in a timely manner
  • Document all interactions accurately and consistently
  • Serve as a liaison and problem solver for customer issues
  • Educate members on available services and how to maximize their benefits
  • Maintain knowledge of Medicare Advantage plans and healthcare services
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
  • Meet performance and attendance expectations

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in medical insurance, healthcare, or call center environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
  • Solid data entry and computer skills in a Windows-based environment
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues effectively

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, or billing practices
  • Typing speed of 30 WPM with 95% accuracy
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

 

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
