The Finance Clerk supports the accounting and finance department by performing a variety of clerical, administrative, and financial tasks. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with numbers and financial software.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

  • Prepare, verify, and enter invoices, receipts, and financial data into accounting systems.

  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor statements, and internal financial records.

  • Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping verification as needed.

  • Maintain organized financial files, records, and documentation.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Generate basic financial reports and summaries for management.

  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding billing, payments, and account status.

  • Assist with audits by providing requested documentation and reports.

  • Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; some college or accounting coursework preferred.

  • Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical roles is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

  • Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
