Punch Press Operator

Salary: $22.00/hr

Schedule & Employment Type

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Employment Type: Evaluation-to-hire (temporary with the opportunity for permanent placement based on performance and attendance)

Key Responsibilities

• Set up punch press machines, including installing and aligning punches and dies
• Operate mechanical, hydraulic, or CNC punch press equipment to produce parts according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
• Monitor machine operation to ensure accuracy and consistent quality
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards
• Record production data and report any defects or inconsistencies

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
• Experience operating punch press or similar industrial machinery
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CNC punch press programming and operation
• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures

Work Environment

• Manufacturing or production facility
• Exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
