CNC Machinist

Job Summary: Operate Machine Shop equipment found in the plant to make replacement or new parts for equipment used in the plant.  Repair production equipment.  Do difficult Machinist’s assembly work.  In general, the machinist’s work requires a rounded training in machine shop practice usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

• Schedule: 1^st Shift, 6:00am-2:00pm
• Pay/Salary: $20.00 - $22.00

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Operate metal working machines such as lathe, shaper, milling machine, drill press, etc. Surface grinder, hydraulic press, shearing machines, etc. to make and/or repair a wide variety of complex parts such as parts/components for dies, jigs, fixtures and production machine parts etc. 
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial gauges, ID & OD micrometers, surface gauges & height gauges, make shop computations relating to dimensions of work.
• Diagnose trouble on production machines such as tube mills, presses, drills, etc.
• Dismantle production equipment and make necessary repairs, including the making of necessary replacement parts.
• Perform Machinist’s assembly work – work to line up & assemble parts into subassemblies and subassemblies into complete units.
• Layout with foreman, or occasionally from blueprints or sketches, working procedure for job to be made.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Operate lift truck, scissor lift and crane as necessary.
• Ability to Work with metal, plastic, fiber or any material as design trends require.
• Ability to read blueprints
