Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems according to established schedules
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform timely repairs to minimize production or operational downtime
• Inspect equipment for proper operation and identify potential problems before they escalate
• Repair or replace defective parts, including motors, belts, bearings, pumps, valves, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems
• Maintain and repair facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical components
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school preferred)
• Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects (typically up to 50 lbs or more)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in confined or elevated spaces
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, etc.)

Work Environment:

• May work in industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facility settings
• May require shift work, overtime, or on-call availability depending on operational needs
