Job Description:

The Cemetery Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of cemetery grounds through routine landscaping duties. This position focuses on weed trimming around headstones and burial areas using gasoline-powered weed eaters while maintaining a respectful and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Weed eat and trim around headstones, monuments, and cemetery grounds
  • Operate gasoline-powered weed eaters and basic landscaping equipment safely
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and respectful grounds at all times
  • Follow all safety guidelines and equipment procedures
  • Work carefully to avoid damage to headstones and memorials
  • Perform additional basic groundskeeping duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Repetitive motion using landscaping equipment

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to safely operate weed trimmers and outdoor power equipment
  • Attention to detail and respect for sensitive work environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
