This dual-role position blends individual life and ancillary product sales with group health benefits consulting and account management. This role supports two primary areas:

  1. Individual Market: Life insurance and ancillary products (dental, vision, disability, supplemental coverage)

  2. Group Market: Employer-sponsored health and benefits solutions, including plan design, implementation, and ongoing account management

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  1. Develop new business through networking, referrals, community involvement, and prospecting

  2. Present and sell life insurance and ancillary products to individuals and families

  3. Design and recommend customized group health and supplemental benefits packages for employer clients

  4. Implement creative marketing strategies to grow both individual and group lines of business

Client Relationship Management

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with individuals, families, employers, and HR contacts

  2. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing ongoing support and policy reviews

  3. Conduct client meetings in person, virtually, or by phone

  4. Deliver engaging employee benefit presentations and enrollment meetings

Consultation & Education

  1. Educate clients on coverage options, policy features, and long-term financial impact

  2. Assess business and individual needs to recommend appropriate insurance solutions

  3. Guide clients through applications, underwriting, and enrollment processes

Account Management & Administration

  1. Maintain accurate client records and documentation in CRM systems

  2. Ensure compliance with all policies, regulations, and industry standards

  3. Provide reporting and updates to leadership on sales and account activity

  4. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless client service

Operational Support

  1. Support team initiatives and cross-functional efforts, especially during peak seasons

  2. Assist with Medicare and health insurance client needs as needed

  3. Participate in community events and occasional evening or weekend activities

  4. Stay current on product offerings, compliance requirements, and industry trends

 

Qualifications

  1. Minimum 2+ years of experience in insurance sales, benefits, or a related field

  2. Strong knowledge of life, health, and ancillary insurance products (group benefits experience strongly preferred)

  3. Proven success in consultative, relationship-based sales

  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills

  5. Ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively

  6. Strong organizational and time management skills

  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems

  8. Self-motivated, results-driven, and detail-oriented

 

Licenses & Requirements

  1. Active Life & Health Insurance License (required or willingness to obtain)

  2. Ability to maintain licenses, appointments, and continuing education

  3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  4. Ability to travel locally (up to 50%)

  5. Successful completion of a background check
