Job Summary

We are hiring a Spot Welder for a manufacturing environment in Lancaster, SC. This role is responsible for operating resistance spot welding equipment to assemble sheet metal and steel components used in production. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate resistance spot welding machines to join metal parts
  • Set up and adjust machine settings such as pressure, time, and current
  • Position, align, and secure materials using fixtures, clamps, and jigs
  • Load and unload metal parts into welding stations or work areas
  • Perform repetitive welding operations based on work orders
  • Inspect welds for quality, strength, and accuracy
  • Identify defects and separate non-conforming parts for rework or scrap
  • Maintain production flow and meet daily output requirements
  • Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of welding equipment (tips, electrodes, fixtures)
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times

Equipment Used

  • Resistance spot welding machines
  • Welding fixtures, clamps, and jigs
  • Measuring tools (calipers, gauges, templates)
  • Hand tools for alignment and adjustment
  • Material handling equipment (carts, pallet jacks as needed)

Physical Requirements

  • Standing 8–10 hours per shift
  • Frequent lifting of 10–50 lbs throughout the day
  • Occasional lifting up to 50–75 lbs (team lift when needed)
  • Repetitive hand, arm, and shoulder movements
  • Bending, reaching, and positioning materials repeatedly
  • Ability to visually inspect weld quality and detect defects
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and sparks

Skills & Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or welding experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Comfortable with repetitive, production-based work
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
