Fabrication / Sheet Metal & Shop Helper

Clarkston, WA

Pay: $23–$30/hr DOE

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM

Regular OT available on Fridays

What We’re Looking For

This is a trainable position for candidates with established mechanical aptitude in their work history or experience in fab or machine shops. The company is a multidiscipline fabrication and manufacturing shop specializing in sheet metal work both custom and maintenance. The work is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and highly varied — ideal for people who enjoy learning new skills and taking on different types of projects. Employees are placed in areas where they naturally excel or where they want to grow.

Required Skills & Traits

Ability to read a tape measure accurately (down to 1/16”)
Reliable, punctual, and ready to work
Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
Comfortable using hand and power tools
Able to follow instructions and think ahead to the next step
Willing to learn and take on different types of tasks
Strong basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, measurements)

Job Duties

Entry Responsibilities (Training Provided)

Insulating panels
Riveting, screwing, and assembling sheet‑metal parts
Using basic hand tools and power tools
Assisting on multi‑step fabrication projects
Parts running and general shop support

Optional Growth Opportunities (If You Have Experience)

These are not required for hire but may increase starting pay and advancement opportunities.

Skilled-Level Tasks

Forklift operation
Sheet metal layout, cutting, bending, forming
MIG or TIG welding
Grinding, polishing, and finishing
Operating fabrication equipment (shear, press brake, band saw, lathe, mill, waterjet, etc.)
Rigging and lifting
Warehouse organization and inventory
Basic equipment or tool repair

Advanced/Expert Tasks

Heavy equipment operation (excavator, uniloader, roller, dump truck/trailer)
Automotive repair
Carpentry (steel or wood framing)
Installation work
Electrical or plumbing
HVAC service (EPA certification a plus)

Required Experience

No formal trade experience required. Candidates must be mechanically inclined and able to:

Read a tape measure down to 16th
Use basic tools
Follow instructions
Show up reliably
