Structural Welder – Fabrication & Field Work

Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Schedule: Full-time | Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM | Overtime Available

Job Summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking skilled Structural Welders to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of welding and fabrication experience, proficiency in MIG welding, and knowledge of structural steel assembly. This role includes both shop-based fabrication and field welding on a wide range of projects, including structural, architectural, and custom metalwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and other welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW) with precision and efficiency

• Cut, shape, fit, and assemble structural and fabricated metal components

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols

• Operate welding and fabrication equipment, including analog MIG welders, chop saws, grinders, and basic mill equipment

• Safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment

• Work independently and collaboratively to meet production and project deadlines

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

• Successfully pass weld/fabrication tests as part of the hiring process

• Successfully participate in background check and drug testing

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Minimum of one year of welding and fabrication experience (structural experience preferred)

• Proficiency in MIG welding; knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW a plus

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read blueprints, follow welding codes, and perform accurate layout and fit-up

• Strong math skills, including fractions, ratios, and percentages

• Familiarity with fabrication tools, mills, and material-handling equipment

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

• AWS or equivalent certifications preferred but not required
